Oil prices recently fell by about 1% to $104 per barrel. While this price drop has shown a downward trend over the past few days, prices remain above $100. Brent crude fell by $1.01, or 0.95%, to $104, and the futures price of West Texas Intermediate crude oil also dropped by 52 cents, or 0.5%, to $99.40 per barrel. On Wednesday, both oil benchmarks experienced a decline of about 3%.
Analysis of the Oil Market Situation
In early trading, Brent prices fell by more than $3, reaching their lowest level since September 10. Similarly, West Texas crude also dropped to its lowest level since September 11. This price decline occurred while Saudi Arabia is attempting to restore half of its east-west oil pipeline capacity in the coming days. This comes after oil prices had recently surged to their highest level in about four months.

Impacts of Recent Attacks on the Oil Industry
Several factors have influenced the volatility in the oil market. Shipping industry sources have reported that crude oil loading at the Yanbu export port in Saudi Arabia on the Red Sea has been halted, and Riyadh has canceled some shipments to European customers. According to assessments, three pumping stations serving the east-west pipeline were damaged in last week's attack, and the repair timeline for these stations remains uncertain.
DBS Bank Singapore has based its fourth-quarter baseline scenario on the assumption that tensions between the US and Iran will ease. In this case, it is expected that Brent crude prices could stabilize in the range of $85 to $95 per barrel. This forecast could have profound effects on the global oil market and the economies of countries, especially as oil price volatility is heavily dependent on financial and economic markets.
