Iran University of Medical Sciences has pointed out the housing challenges faced by its students as the new academic year begins and is striving to meet the needs of these students despite existing limitations. Dr. Nader Tavakoli, the university president, emphasized the role of students as the social capital of the country during his press conference with the media.
Housing Challenges and Efforts to Meet Needs
In this meeting, Dr. Tavakoli stated that students give spirit to the university, reminding that every year, ahead of the start of the academic year, a committee is formed to coordinate the launch of the new year to effectively address the problems and issues related to students. He also mentioned the housing challenges and said: "The provision and delivery of housing capacities are still accompanied by problems. One of the university's dormitories has also been damaged in recent incidents and is out of operation. We have tried to replace it with a rented facility."
University Achievements in Clinical Medical Education
In addition to housing challenges, Dr. Tavakoli referred to the achievements of Iran University of Medical Sciences in international rankings and announced that this university has ranked first in the country for clinical medical education. According to him, this success reflects attention to the quality of clinical education and a move towards necessary standards.
He also pointed to the increase in educational capacities in general medical groups and said: "We are facing many challenges in increasing capacities, as the university's infrastructure has not developed in line with this increase."
Furthermore, Tavakoli mentioned the special programs of the Student and Cultural Affairs Office for the new academic year and stated that details of these programs will be announced soon.
Providing Health Services and Financial Protection for Patients
Dr. Tavakoli also referred to the role of Iran University of Medical Sciences in providing health services in Tehran province and said: "Our duty in the current situation is doubled, and we must make every effort to provide services to the people."
