On early Tuesday, November 3, American fighters bombed several targets on Qeshm Island. These attacks occurred after IRGC forces fired at an American fighter jet. This event has fueled concerns about escalating tensions in the region and has impacted the future of diplomatic negotiations.

Details of the Qeshm Bombing

Iran's state television reported hearing loud explosions on Qeshm Island. According to reports, the sound of four to six consecutive explosions was heard around 12:15 AM, with their intensity causing some buildings to shake. Eyewitnesses on the Telegram channel "VahidOnline" confirmed the occurrence of these explosions and stated that they were near defensive positions.

An anonymous American official emphasized that Iranian forces were targeted in this incident. These attacks have been described as "limited defensive strikes" and do not appear to indicate a resumption of large-scale military operations. However, this action has heightened concerns about the escalation of tensions in the region.

Consequences of the Attacks and Political Situation

This bombing occurred while the newspaper "Hamshahri" published a map of American bases in Europe on its front page, raising the possibility of the conflict spreading beyond the Middle East. In this illustration, an individual in IRGC uniform stands in front of a map of American bases with a thought-provoking phrase written on it: "We will see what happens."

Mohammad Javad Zarif, in a meeting with senior military commanders, has ordered them to respond to any potential enemy threat "immediately, effectively, and without geographical limitations." These statements, alongside the bombing of Qeshm, seem to increase tensions in the region.

Despite these tensions, informal negotiations continue behind the scenes. JD Vance, the U.S. Vice President, expressed optimism about the possibility of reaching an agreement with Iranian officials before confirming the new attacks. Meanwhile, global markets have been affected by this conflict, causing significant damage to Iran.

The U.S. is attempting to leverage the current situation by applying pressure on Iran ahead of the midterm elections. Militarily, thousands of American troops are stationed in waters near Iran's shores to maintain a maritime blockade of Iranian ports.
