The names of the top ranks in the National University Entrance Exam 1405 have been announced by the National Organization for Educational Assessment. This exam, which is considered one of the most important educational stages for Iranian students, evaluates thousands of students each year for admission to universities and higher education institutions. According to the announcement by the National Organization for Educational Assessment, this round of the exam included testing groups in experimental sciences, humanities, mathematics and technical fields, foreign languages, and arts.
Presence of Girls in Mathematics and Experimental Sciences
The published results indicate that girls have a significantly lower presence in the mathematics and experimental sciences groups, especially among the top ranks, compared to boys. This clearly reflects the challenges and obstacles faced by girls in this area. Although higher education, particularly in the fields of experimental sciences and mathematics, has become more prevalent for girls in recent years, the ratio of girls to boys among the top performers is still lower.

Why Are Girls Less Visible in Mathematics and Experimental Sciences?
Several factors may contribute to this diminished presence. On one hand, social and cultural pressures on girls may lead to a lack of choice in selecting mathematics and experimental sciences fields. On the other hand, there is a felt need for more support in this area. The need to create supportive environments and encourage the selection of scientific and technical fields for girls is one of the issues that must be addressed.
In other groups such as humanities and arts, the presence of girls is significantly higher. These differences in field selection indicate the need for a deeper examination of the social and cultural issues that influence educational choices. The top performers in the 1405 exam, especially in the humanities and arts groups, clearly demonstrate the strength of girls in these areas.
Given these results, it seems necessary to have precise and targeted planning to encourage girls to enter STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). These programs could include workshops, educational counseling, and the creation of successful role models for girls to show them that they can achieve great successes in these fields.
The educational and career future of girls in Iran, especially in scientific and technical fields, requires more attention. Considering global advancements in these areas, it is essential that girls also experience equal educational and career opportunities.
