Alireza Zakani, the Mayor of Tehran, this morning unveiled the comprehensive livelihood plan of the Tehran Municipality titled 'Zero Inflation' at the Saadiyeh Fruit and Vegetable Market. This plan is designed to stabilize the prices of essential goods for six months and support the livelihoods of families.

Details of the Plan and Basic Items

During the ceremony, Zakani referred to the urgent need of citizens to address livelihood issues, stating: 'I hope this plan will serve as an operational response to the economic assault of our enemies and untangle the country's major knots.' He added: 'The first part of the plan involves stabilizing the prices of 12 essential goods, including rice, meat, and oil, which will begin today in 108 fruit and vegetable markets and will also be implemented in 18 Shahrvand stores starting next Saturday.'

Zakani also emphasized that this food package will soon expand to 15 items, including chicken meat and tomato paste. He stressed that the prices of these items will remain fixed for the next six months with no price increases.

How to Access and Purchase Goods

The Mayor of Tehran explained how citizens can purchase from this plan, stating that they can either visit the fruit and vegetable markets in person or place their orders through the 'Shahrzad' super application. In this method, purchases will be delivered to their doorstep. Zakani also announced an increase in the number of fruit and vegetable markets in the near future, saying: 'The number of these markets will increase from 108 to over 200.'

Furthermore, Zakani announced a 50% discount on trade profits for over 18,000 items in Shahrvand stores and emphasized that this discount will not impose any additional pressure on suppliers. He stated: 'Half of Shahrvand's trade profit will be immediately returned to customers' electronic wallets after purchase.'

Zakani also referred to the fight against intermediaries, saying: 'Currently, the prices of products in Tehran's municipal markets are, on average, 25 to 30 percent lower than the market, and we are working to increase this gap.'

Given these measures, the 'Zero Inflation' plan can be seen as a fundamental solution to address the livelihood challenges of families in the capital, and it is hoped that the implementation of this plan will help improve the economic situation of citizens.
