Amir Sayah, former head of the Business Environment Improvement Center of the Ministry of Economy, addressed the challenges facing real exporters under sanctions and distrust of the government at an economic roundtable. He pointed out that currently, the currency commitment system does not differentiate between real exporters and smugglers, emphasizing that this situation must change.

Need to Facilitate Trade Routes

Amir Sayah stated that in the context of sanctions and the enemy's efforts to close borders, facilitating trade routes is essential. He added: "Real exporters are faced with distrust and the obligation to register goods and commit to returning currency. This situation is not in favor of the country's economy at all."

According to Sayah's statements, the government should distinguish between entrepreneurs and smugglers instead of equalizing conditions for everyone. He clarified: "Identifying real economic actors from smugglers is very important, and for this purpose, white and black lists should be prepared."

Consequences of Distrust in Exporters

Sayah also referred to the consequences of distrust in real exporters, saying: "This distrust can lead to a decrease in exports and ultimately harm the country's economy. If exporters feel that the government does not trust them, they will lose the necessary motivation to continue their economic activities."

He noted that currently, many real exporters prefer to engage in informal activities instead of exporting, adding: "This issue can lead to more problems in the country's economy and ultimately fuel smuggling."

In this roundtable, Sayah emphasized the necessity of creating a suitable environment for economic activities, stating: "The government must provide the necessary infrastructure to facilitate healthy economic activities and prevent problems from arising."

According to Sayah, these actions will not only help improve the business environment but can also restore exporters' trust. He concluded by emphasizing that if attention is not paid to these issues, the country's economy will face even more serious challenges.
