Volodymyr Zelensky, the President of Ukraine, in a candid interview with British host Piers Morgan, criticized Donald Trump's agreement with Russia and noted that this agreement has created a feeling of betrayal towards Ukraine in him. Zelensky emphasized that this issue goes beyond his personal feelings and relates to the survival of his country.
Criticism of Trump's Agreement and Security Issues
Donald Trump announced on the social media platform Truth Social that Russia will soon supply more than 300,000 tons of diesel to the U.S. and global markets after a conversation with Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia. This agreement comes at a time when rising fuel prices in the U.S. have put Trump under pressure ahead of the midterm elections. Zelensky considers this agreement a serious threat to Ukraine and added that this decision could provide more financial resources to Moscow to continue the war against Ukraine.

Starlink Limitations and Their Impact on Military Operations
Zelensky also referred to the existing limitations on access to Starlink satellite services and stated that these limitations have affected Ukraine's ability to conduct defensive operations. He called for these restrictions to be lifted by Elon Musk, the owner of SpaceX. Following this request, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense announced that it is investigating the reasons for the limitations and ensuring the stability of communications with SpaceX and the U.S. government.
These disputes continue as Russian attacks on Ukraine, especially in key areas like Kyiv, persist with intensity. Zelensky expressed regret in this interview that Ukraine may lose one of its powerful partners in this crisis and said that if Trump does not stand with Ukraine, it will be a painful situation.
These statements from Zelensky come as 12 U.S. senators, including six Republicans and six Democrats, have written a letter to Trump calling for the cancellation of the diesel sales agreement to global markets. They warned that continuing this agreement harms U.S. security interests and is a betrayal to the people of Ukraine.
Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine cannot be weak and that the issue goes beyond a business deal. He concluded his remarks by stating that this is not the right side of history and urged Trump to take a firm stance in support of Ukraine.
