Alireza Zakani, the mayor of Tehran, addressed the gathering of the Student Basij Organization at the Irshad Hosseiniyeh in Tehran, highlighting the country's conditions and the necessity of maintaining readiness and resistance against enemy pressures, stating: "We are at an important juncture in history, and each of us has a responsibility in the front of truth." He added: "If we look at issues with a civilizational perspective and understand our historical responsibility, many of today's hardships and transformations will be comprehensible."
Analysis of Conditions and Economic Capacities
Zakani stated that the way we perceive developments affects our analysis of conditions and decision-making, adding: "If our narrative of events is merely materialistic, we may perceive today's difficult conditions as a sign of weakness; however, with a divine perspective, even in the midst of hardships, new paths for progress and overcoming problems can be found." He also referred to the Islamic Republic of Iran's confrontation with the system of dominance, asserting that the Iranian people have shown, at critical historical junctures, that they are present in the field with insight and awareness.

Utilizing Economic Capacities and Transferring to the People
The mayor of Tehran emphasized the importance of the country's economic resilience, stating: "The main issue is whether the country can secure its necessary resources under the current conditions or not. In my opinion, despite the difficulties arising from war conditions and income limitations, the country does not face a deadlock in managing affairs and securing its needed resources."
Zakani pointed to the government's revenue sources, including taxes and oil, stating that tax revenues in the first half of the year have reached the anticipated level, and with rising oil prices, new economic capacities should be utilized. He also emphasized the necessity of transferring state-owned companies to the people, saying: "If the government has a serious will in this regard and transfers part of its assets to the people, it can provide significant resources for managing the country."
Zakani further emphasized the role of housing in people's livelihoods, stressing the use of government-owned lands and the implementation of appropriate policies in this area. He also outlined the Tehran municipality's programs to reduce economic pressure on the people and spoke of the efforts of this institution to support household livelihoods and improve citizens' living conditions.
