Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, responded to questions about the statements of the Estonian Minister of Defense regarding the possibility of a preemptive attack on Russia during the twelfth International Forum of United Cultures in St. Petersburg on Friday evening. He rejected these claims and emphasized that there are no plans to attack European countries.

Putin's Firm Response to European Tensions

Putin stated that the remarks of European officials only lead to increased tensions and provocations. He said: "We are not preparing for any military conflict with Europe, and there is no reason to escalate tensions with these countries." These statements come as officials from the Baltic states have frequently spoken about the possibility of a Russian attack.

The President of Russia also referred to the violation of the rights of the Russian-speaking population in the Baltic countries and stated that this issue will be pursued within the framework of international law. He said: "We recognize the rights of our compatriots in these countries and will fight for their realization, but within the framework of international laws."

A Look at Tensions and Upcoming Negotiations

Putin further responded to a question about the trilateral negotiations between Russia, the United States, and Ukraine. He noted that the Ukrainian side had previously halted negotiations that were taking place in Istanbul. However, he recently announced that Ukraine has expressed its readiness to resume these negotiations, especially after the Duma elections.

Putin also referred to recent Ukrainian attacks on civilian and military facilities in Russia, stating: "These attacks have damaged various facilities, such as warehouses of commercial companies. We have provided appropriate responses on all fronts, and our retaliatory actions have had their effects on the enemy. It seems that they are now seeking a ceasefire and a reduction in tensions."

The President of Russia emphasized that future decisions regarding negotiations and military actions will be made based on Russia's national interests. He reminded that any provocative actions by Ukraine will only worsen their situation.
