The Trump administration is on the verge of new decisions regarding Iran that may occur after the midterm elections on November 3 (Tuesday, Aban 12). In this context, several members of Congress have reported on their discussions with Donald Trump and the receipt of classified information about the government's military program.
Senators' Discussions with Trump
Ted Cruz, the Republican senator from Texas, announced in a message on X that he spent yesterday with Donald Trump and asked the President to arm Iranian protesters to overthrow the regime. Cruz also supported a naval blockade of Iran and expressed concern that Trump has not armed the opponents of the Iranian government sufficiently.

On the other hand, Chris Murphy, the Democratic senator from Connecticut, reported receiving classified information about the government's potential plan for the next phase of the war and described the plan as "insane." He referred to detailed discussions about the resumption of military operations in a classified briefing.
Concerns and Criticisms in Congress
Some other senators also expressed their concerns about the continuation of the war with Iran and criticized the Trump administration. Jack Reed, a Democratic senator and senior member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, pointed to the lack of a credible strategy from the Trump administration. Additionally, Chuck Schumer, the Senate Democratic leader, criticized the absence of a clear vision for ending the war.
Meanwhile, Thomas Massie, a representative in the House of Representatives, explicitly criticized Trump's military powers and stated that the executive branch cannot continue a war without a declaration of war or congressional authorization. These disagreements have also been evident in congressional votes, and resolutions to limit Trump's military powers have been passed.
Another meeting was held at the White House where General Kenneth McKenzie, the CENTCOM commander, and other senior officials discussed the status of the war with Trump. Reports indicate that Trump is seeking more information about the naval blockade of Iran and military options against the country.
Ultimately, existing evidence shows that the White House has not yet officially requested new war authorization from Congress and is only reviewing and informing lawmakers. These issues clearly indicate serious developments in U.S. military policies towards Iran.
