The 'Zero Inflation' plan, aimed at making food baskets more affordable and countering economic aggression in Tehran, can create a positive transformation in the livelihoods of the capital's citizens. This plan, which will last for 6 months, has been developed with the full support of urban management and coordination with various institutions.

Stabilizing Prices and Meeting Basic Needs

The urban management of Tehran is striving to stabilize the prices of essential goods and food baskets for families for a period of 6 months through this plan. To this end, the Tehran Municipality has begun offering 12 essential items including rice, meat, and legumes, with the prices of these items not increasing at all. For example, each individual can receive 2 kilograms of rice and 400 grams of oil at a fixed price each month.

Families also have the option to choose from different varieties of rice and meat, allowing them to meet their needs. Additionally, purchasing goods through the 'Shahrzad' super app is also possible, enabling citizens to make their purchases online and receive the goods at home.

Increasing Supply Markets and Reducing Prices

Starting from November, the number of active supply markets in Tehran will increase from 108 to over 200. This action is being taken to facilitate citizens' access to essential goods and reduce prices. Currently, the prices of products in fruit and vegetable markets are on average 25 to 30 percent lower than market levels, and the urban management's goal is to increase these discounts by completely eliminating intermediaries and reducing additional costs.

Moreover, the Tehran Municipality, in collaboration with banks and government institutions, has taken steps to finance and organize the supply chain of goods. Bank Shahr and the Central Bank are among the institutions active in this area to prevent problems in the supply of goods.

Abdolmahtab Mohammadkhani, the spokesperson for the Tehran Municipality, emphasized that this plan is exclusively for residents of Tehran and aims to assist the livelihoods of people in this city. He also mentioned plans to regulate the energy market, which are being carried out to improve the living conditions of the people.

Considering the public concerns regarding prices, the urban management has assured that with the implementation of supportive plans, prices will remain stable for the next 6 months, and any price fluctuations will be prevented. This plan can serve as an example of a resilient economy aimed at eliminating harmful speculation and restoring real profits to consumers' tables.
