The 'Zero Inflation' plan of Tehran Municipality has recently been launched with the aim of stabilizing the prices of 12 essential goods for a period of six months. This initiative, which has received a positive response from parliament members, is considered a way to alleviate the economic pressure on the people.

Positive Response from Parliament Members to Tehran Municipality's Plan

Reza Sepahvand, the representative of Khorramabad and spokesperson for the Energy Commission of the parliament, has evaluated the implementation of this plan as a positive step and emphasized that Tehran Municipality, given its financial capacity, is capable of carrying out this task. According to him, this initiative could help secure the livelihoods of vulnerable groups and reduce some of the economic pressure on the people.

Hasan Ali Akhlaghi Amiri, the representative of Mashhad and Kalat, emphasized the necessity for other cities, especially metropolises, to join this plan and considered the establishment of a proper distribution cycle and the elimination of unnecessary intermediaries as ways to reduce inflationary pressure. He also believes that shortening the supply chain from producer to consumer will benefit both parties.

Economic and Psychological Impacts of the 'Zero Inflation' Plan

Hamid Yazdian, the representative of Isfahan and vice president of the Agricultural Commission of the parliament, stated that this initiative is a positive step, adding: "Municipalities can reduce the cost of delivering goods to consumers through direct supply centers and distribution networks." Mohammad Jalali, a member of the Agricultural Commission, also referred to the psychological impacts of this plan, saying: "If families can purchase their essential goods at fixed prices, this will positively affect the market's psychological atmosphere."

Peyman Falsafi, a member of the Agricultural Commission, regarded the 'Zero Inflation' plan as a practical and courageous initiative in the country's inflationary conditions and called for direct supply of goods from farm and factory to distribution centers. Fathollah Tosali and other representatives also emphasized the necessity of supporting this plan, describing it as a commendable action.

Ultimately, Zahra Elhian, a former representative of Tehran, considered this plan to be hopeful and stressed the need for careful oversight and financial transparency for its success. Given the positive impacts of this plan on people's livelihoods, it is expected that municipalities across the country will implement it.
