Mahdi Chamran, on the sidelines of the 441st session of the Tehran City Council, discussed the guidelines for managing electronic service offices in the city with reporters. He talked about ongoing programs of the city council, referring to four audit reports, registered plots, amendments to the garden law, and an investment plan on the agenda.

Crisis of trees in Chitgar Park and solutions

Chamran commented on the condition of the trees in Chitgar Forest Park, saying: "Our plan was to invite the district mayor to provide necessary explanations on the matter. If the municipality and the district have been negligent, we will not let them go." He also referred to solving the water problem of this park in the past two years and noted: "If this work had not been done, the remaining trees would have dried up as well. We have allocated a budget for watering green spaces and a plan has been set up to avoid problems. Additionally, we no longer want to use wells for irrigation."

Attention to city council warnings and impeachment of the mayor

The head of the Tehran City Council, referring to responding to written warnings from council members, stated: "Each warning is about a specific issue, and council members issue warnings regarding their duties, which are responded to. The council affairs department has announced that over 99 percent of members' warnings have been addressed."

Chamran also commented on the request for the impeachment of the mayor of Tehran by one of the council members, saying: "Each member can act on this matter according to the law. This issue is not against the law, but the public interests of the country must be considered."

He further referred to the fulfillment of promises made during the sixth term of the city council and added: "During Mr. Ahmadinejad's time, we had just entered the council, and every promise made was fulfilled. Today is the same. Promises that are approved in the council's program must be implemented, and we need to examine these issues."

Chamran finally referred to the contract for metro wagons, saying: "Unfortunately, although the wagons have been transferred to the ship, this contract remains. This contract has reached 800 wagons, while Tehran's share is more than a thousand wagons that need to be imported. This is an issue that must be resolved between the Iranian and Chinese governments and is beyond the municipality's responsibility."

He also mentioned the arrival of electric buses in Tehran and their operation, adding: "A number of electric buses have entered Tehran and created a transformation in this area. Double-decker buses have also been added to the fleet, which can significantly assist public transportation."
