The excavation operation of line 9 of the Tehran metro, as the tallest line in the capital's metro network, is on the verge of beginning. This line is being developed simultaneously using both mechanized and non-mechanized excavation methods, and it is hoped that its completion will bring a significant transformation to public transportation in Tehran.
Details of the excavation of line 9
Line 9 of the Tehran metro, as one of the new lines in the urban transportation network, passes through 10 different areas of the capital and will have interchange stations with existing lines as well as three other new lines (8, 10, and 11). The mechanized excavation operation of this line will begin with the launch of the TBM (Tunnel Boring Machine) at the Dolatabad workshop. Alongside this, the second excavation front using the non-mechanized method has also been activated from the Chitgar workshop.

Social and economic impacts of line 9
Line 9 is highly significant due to the route it takes through the western, central, eastern, and southern areas of the capital. This line, especially in synergy with line 8, which forms an internal rail transport ring, can help attract more passengers and is expected to become one of the busiest metro lines in Tehran. Given the increasing population and the need for fast and efficient transportation, the launch of this line could significantly reduce traffic and improve the quality of life for citizens.
This project is expected not only to facilitate public transportation but also to create new job opportunities and strengthen the local economy. With the development of transportation infrastructure, access to urban services and facilities for residents of these areas will improve, which in turn can lead to business growth and improved social conditions.
