Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, referred to the continuation of consultations between the two countries, Iran and Russia, in an Instagram message. These consultations will be held in Moscow next week with the presence of the presidents of both countries and are considered a continuation of the recent talks between Tehran and Moscow.

Lavrov's visit to Tehran and its significance

The recent visit of Sergey Lavrov, the Russian Foreign Minister, to Tehran is considered an important event in the relations between the two countries. This visit provided an opportunity to discuss common issues and strengthen cooperation in various fields. During this visit, both sides also addressed regional and international issues and emphasized the need to strengthen bilateral relations.

Araghchi mentioned the importance of these consultations in his message, stating that these discussions are aimed at strengthening political and economic cooperation between Iran and Russia. In recent years, relations between Iran and Russia, especially in economic and military fields, have significantly expanded, and these consultations could help diversify and deepen these relations.

Possible consequences of the consultations

The continuation of these consultations in Moscow could have significant implications for both countries. As Western sanctions, especially against Iran, continue, cooperation with neighboring countries, including Russia, could help strengthen Iran's economic and political position. On the other hand, for Russia, cooperation with Iran as a key country in the Middle East could provide an opportunity to expand its influence and impact in the region.

In this context, it is expected that various topics, including military, economic cooperation, and security issues, will be discussed in future meetings. Additionally, these consultations could serve as a platform to address regional issues such as the Syrian crisis and other security challenges in the Middle East.
