This is the border; a place far from the hustle and bustle of cities, where kilometers away from home and family shape part of the service days of border guards. In Sarakhs County, the border is not limited to dirt paths and border posts; part of this border is adjacent to water and, within the limits of the Friendship Dam, border guarding occurs alongside the water border. The border guards serving here face various geographical and climatic challenges.

In these areas, border guards spend their days and nights at posts and border points; sometimes in severe cold and sometimes under unbearable heat. In long routes and difficult geographical conditions, patrolling, monitoring, and being on standby are part of their daily lives. Behind every border post, there is a story of soldiers who experience the distance from family, homesickness, and the hardships of service alongside the responsibilities they bear. These young men spend part of their military service kilometers away from home and at the border points of the country.

Life at the Sarakhs Border
The Sarakhs border, located next to Turkmenistan and featuring sections of both land and water borders in the Friendship Dam area, presents a different picture of the conditions faced by border guards. Protecting the border on land and water requires the continuous presence of forces and readiness for various conditions. The border guards, with effort and sacrifice, are engaged in ensuring security and order in these areas and are always ready to confront challenges in the best possible way.
This collection aims to depict glimpses of patrolling, being on standby, resting, daily activities, and moments of the lives of border guards in this region. The photography of this collection began in the early days of the Ramadan War and effectively showcases the difficult living conditions of these soldiers. These images narrate their human stories, which, despite hardships, courageously and selflessly protect the borders of the country.
