Tehran's regular public transport fleet has been fully electrified, and this change in the heart of the capital, namely District 12, is considered an important step towards improving the city's air quality. Mehdi Alizadeh, CEO of Tehran Bus Company, emphasized the significance of this transformation and pointed out the unique characteristics of District 12, which experiences a high volume of daily traffic due to the presence of markets, commercial centers, and educational institutions.

Service Hours

Alizadeh announced: "The operating hours of these lines are from 5:30 AM to 9:30 PM, and the electric bus fleet will provide services during this time." This scheduling allows citizens to easily use public transport services throughout the day and access various centers in this area.

According to Alizadeh, with the start of the school year and the increase in travel demand in this area, services will be provided using the clean fleet, in full coordination with the Tehran Metro network. This coordination is especially crucial during times when traffic increases at the beginning of the school year.

Details of the Electric Fleet

Currently, 7 lines with 132 single-cabin electric Hyger buses are in operation. These buses are charged at the charging stations in Baghestani, Ghorkhaneh, and Kian Shahr. The active lines in this fleet include:

  • Line 276: Khorasan Square - Kaveh Terminal
  • Line 321: End of 17 Shahrivar Street - Imam Khomeini (RA) Square
  • Line 356: Islamic Republic Square - Karim Khan Zand Bridge
  • Line 358: Beginning of Ferdowsi Street - Bihaki Terminal
  • Line 407: Islamic Republic Square - Baharestan

The CEO of Tehran Bus Company also emphasized the company's ongoing approach to developing clean transport and stated: "Electrification of the regular lines in District 12 is a practical step towards reducing pollution, enhancing the quality of public transport services, and moving towards green transport development in the capital." This action not only helps improve the environmental situation but also allows citizens to travel with greater peace of mind.
