Tehran Province Emergency Services has, for the first time in the country, taken steps to recruit volunteers in the field of emergency medicine. This initiative, titled "Emergency Helper" and "Emergency Assistant," aims to develop public participation, allowing interested individuals to join this organization by completing free training courses and to assist their fellow citizens in emergencies.

An Opportunity to Learn and Serve the Community

This program enables volunteers to enhance their readiness for emergencies and crises by acquiring necessary skills in the field of emergency care. Individuals with relevant pre-hospital emergency certifications can work as "Emergency Helpers," while other interested individuals can be recognized as "Emergency Assistants" after completing the basic emergency medical training course.

The training includes topics such as patient assessment, performing initial actions like cardiopulmonary resuscitation, using medical devices, and crisis management. Volunteers who successfully complete these courses will receive a training certificate that enables them to participate in designated programs and in crisis situations.

The Role of Volunteers in Saving Lives

This initiative not only provides training in emergency skills but also offers an opportunity to participate in a valuable service that saves lives. In critical situations, the presence of trained individuals can help reduce injuries and improve the condition of victims. Since time is crucial in emergencies, having individuals capable of performing initial actions can make a significant difference in saving lives.

This program reflects the attention of Tehran Emergency Services officials to public participation and the importance of public education in emergency medicine. Given the increasing public awareness of the importance of initial actions in emergencies, it is hoped that this initiative will lead to an increase in the number of trained individuals ready to assist in crisis situations.

Ultimately, Tehran Emergency Services, through this action, is not only seeking to enhance the quality of its services but also aiming to create a strong network of volunteers who can assist victims alongside professional emergency personnel during times of need. This collaboration can significantly improve the overall performance of the emergency system and enhance the speed and quality of services provided to citizens.
