Following new forecasts, the Meteorological Department of the Taliban Ministry of Transport and Aviation has warned Afghan citizens that on Friday, September 20, there is a possibility of heavy rainfall and thunderstorms in 10 provinces of the country. These forecasts indicate a risk of flash floods in these areas.

Risk of Flash Floods

According to published information, the likelihood of flash floods occurring in areas facing heavy rainfall is very high. This weather situation could lead to the destruction of infrastructure and create serious problems for residents of these provinces. Therefore, residents of these areas should pay attention to the warnings provided and take necessary actions to ensure their safety.

The Meteorological Department has also advised residents to avoid unnecessary travel on rainy days and to seek shelter in safe places in case of any dangerous situation. In these conditions, awareness and preparedness can play a vital role in preventing unfortunate incidents.

Preventive Measures

In this regard, the Taliban government must take more serious actions for crisis management and assist vulnerable residents. Given past experiences with floods and heavy rainfall, the need for planning and preparedness to deal with these crises is of utmost importance. It should be noted that these warnings are merely a precursor to preventive measures, and the responsibility for protecting the lives and property of the people lies with local and central authorities.
