A new survey conducted among 1,065 Lebanese Shiites has revealed interesting results about the current status of the Shiite community in Lebanon. This survey shows that despite the difficult economic and social conditions, a significant majority of Lebanese Shiites remain committed to the option of armed resistance.

Current Situation of Lebanese Shiites

Living conditions in Lebanon have severely deteriorated in recent months, with citizens facing multiple economic, social, and political challenges. Nevertheless, support for resistance against occupation, especially among Shiites, reflects a deep commitment to their religious and national principles and values. As such, 77% of participants in this survey stated that they will support the resistance lists in the upcoming elections.

Decline in Trust in the Government and Presidency

This survey also indicates that trust in the Lebanese government and presidency has significantly declined among Shiites. Many respondents attributed the economic and social problems to the inadequate performance of governmental institutions. In such circumstances, the option of resistance is seen as an alternative and hopeful solution. The fact that the majority of Shiites still believe in armed resistance, especially when the government has failed to meet citizens' expectations, indicates a shift in public policies in Lebanon.

It seems that this support for the resistance option comes at a time when Lebanon, due to political and economic crises, is on the brink of a fundamental transformation. Lebanese Shiites, as one of the most important segments of this country, will play a significant role in determining Lebanon's political future. These results send a message not only to political analysts but also to the government and international institutions that the current conditions in Lebanon require serious attention and effective solutions.

As a result, the recent survey shows that despite unprecedented economic and social problems, Lebanese Shiites still regard resistance as a valid and vital option for preserving their identity and rights. This situation could have profound implications for Lebanon's domestic and foreign policies and necessitates deeper examination and analysis in this regard.
