Mohammad Khatami, the former President of Iran, in a new statement analyzed the current conditions in Iran and referred to the continuation of economic, social, and political crises. He attributed these crises to sanctions and external pressures and expressed concern about the erosion of Iranian society.
Multiple Crises and the Daily Life of Iranians
In this statement, Khatami asserts that Iran is at one of its most complex historical crossroads, facing an unequal war imposed by foreign governments on all aspects of Iranian life. He points to the intertwined hardships and crises resulting from the siege and sanctions, stating that these conditions have jeopardized the daily lives and minimal livelihoods of the people.

Khatami also emphasizes that in such conditions, the primary concern should be the issues of the people, and there should be a focus on advancing political solutions to prevent further erosion of society. He highlights the necessity of solidarity among all pillars of the system and political and civil movements devoted to Iran to overcome this crisis.
Emphasis on Dialogue Among Civilizations
In part of the statement, Khatami recalls the call for "Dialogue Among Civilizations," which once became a global approach under the name of Iran. He states that today, amid extensive wars and blatant aggressions, the notion of "clash of civilizations" has emerged, indicating a worsening of global and regional crises. Khatami believes that Iran is not just a geographical name but the birthplace of the oldest civilizations in human history.
Khatami refers to the global policies of the United States and their negative impacts on Iran, stating that these policies have resulted in the greatest outcomes and gifts for Iran and many other countries, including coups and the plundering of material and spiritual resources. He emphasizes the necessity of the epic resistance of the people and defenders of the homeland against the crimes committed and human rights violations.
In conclusion, Khatami calls on all elites and citizens to place the territorial, historical, and civil integrity of Iran at the center of their approaches and to convey the voice of national demands to all levels and capacities of dialogue in national and international arenas. He believes that every true narrative of civilization and every wise political voice can be effective in preserving and defending Iran.
