Somayeh Golpour, former president of the Supreme Association of Labor Unions, pointed out the fundamental problems faced by workers in the country in a candid interview, noting that currently less than five percent of workers are present in organizations. This lack of presence, along with the absence of specialized councils to address vital issues such as safety, contracts, and job classification, has led the Supreme Labor Council to be limited to discussions about wages.

Insufficient Presence of Workers in Organizations

Golpour mentioned that workers are struggling to resolve their issues due to the lack of effective and capable organizations, stating: "The minimal presence of worker representatives in organizations means a reduction in their ability to pursue their rights and demands." According to existing statistics, less than five percent of workers in the country have been able to join organizations, which is a concerning figure.

Need to Address Fundamental Issues of Workers

The former president of the Supreme Association of Labor Unions emphasized that the Supreme Labor Council must pay attention to key issues such as workplace safety and contract conditions beyond just wage discussions. Without the formation of specialized and efficient councils, important issues that workers face daily will be overlooked. Golpour added: "We need a transparent and efficient system that can respond to workers' issues while also protecting their rights."

These challenges indicate a lack of adequate attention to workers' rights and the necessity for fundamental changes in the management and legal structure related to labor. Golpour stressed the importance of collaboration between workers and government institutions, stating that the voices of workers must reach the authorities.

Ultimately, Somayeh Golpour expressed hope for the future, stating that only by creating strong and effective organizations can we hope for the improvement of workers' conditions and the resolution of existing problems. She urged all workers to unite for the realization of their rights and to make their voices heard in society.
