The Secretary-General of the Badr Organization in Iraq, Hadi al-Amiri, appreciated the efforts of Mustafa al-Kadhimi, the Prime Minister of Iraq, to resume flights from Iran to Najaf Ashraf. This action, considered an important step in improving communications and cooperation between the two countries, could have positive impacts on the tourism industry and economic relations between Iran and Iraq.

Importance of Flights from Iran to Najaf Ashraf

Flights from Iran to Najaf Ashraf are recognized as one of the important religious destinations for Iranian pilgrims. Najaf Ashraf, home to the shrine of Imam Ali (PBUH), hosts millions of Iranian and non-Iranian pilgrims annually. Resuming these flights could allow pilgrims to travel to this sacred place more easily and at a lower cost. Many pilgrims had refrained from traveling to this holy site due to the conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic and travel restrictions.

Consequences of This Action

The return of flights from Iran to Najaf Ashraf will not only positively impact pilgrimage travel but could also contribute to the economic prosperity of Iraq. Since many businesses in Najaf and its surroundings depend on pilgrims, an increase in the number of travelers could help improve the economic situation of this region. Additionally, this action could strengthen political and economic relations between the two countries.

Hadi al-Amiri emphasized that Mustafa al-Kadhimi's efforts to return to normal conditions and improve relations with neighbors, especially Iran, are of great importance. He also stated that the Badr Organization will always strive to strengthen bilateral relations and economic cooperation between the two countries.

In conclusion, this action is seen as a sign of solidarity and cooperation between Iran and Iraq and could help improve tourism and economic conditions in the region. Especially in the post-COVID era, when many countries are looking to rebuild their economies, such collaborations can play a vital role.
