Sayyid Badr al-Busaidi, the Foreign Minister of Oman, in an exclusive interview with Channel 4 in the UK, explicitly warned the United States and the Israeli regime: "Let go of Iran." He emphasized the importance of peace in the region and the need to change the security equations of the Persian Gulf and establish new frameworks in which the countries of the region have a central role.

The need for change in security equations

Badr al-Busaidi, who had previously acted as a mediator in diplomatic relations between Tehran and Washington, clearly stated in this interview that the time has come for the Gulf countries to play a more active role in determining the security fate of the region. He pointed out that dependence on the United States as the main security provider should be reduced and that the countries of the region should address this important matter themselves.

The Foreign Minister of Oman, in response to a question about whether he meant the Gulf countries by "we," clarified: "Yes. I think it is time for us to be in the driver's seat." These statements clearly indicate Oman's desire to play a greater role in regional equations.

Proposal for a Non-Aggression Pact

In another part of this interview, Sayyid Badr al-Busaidi referred to the idea of concluding a non-aggression pact among the Gulf countries, including Iran. In response to criticisms that the presence of American bases in the region makes such a pact unrealistic, he emphasized: "The decision on this matter really lies with the countries of the region to determine whether they want such a thing or not."

This Omani diplomat, regarding the existing concerns in Washington and Tel Aviv about "hearing the drums of war again," urged the parties to return to the negotiating table and emphasized the necessity of dialogue and diplomacy. He stated that from the summary of American reports, he understands that Iran's nuclear facilities have been bombed and destroyed, and said: "I really don't know what they expect from Iran now."

The Foreign Minister of Oman also, in response to the question of what "America's friends" should tell Washington, stated: "The truth that the path to peace is to resolve issues in a peaceful and civilized manner." He criticized the bullying behavior of Western powers, adding: "The path of destruction and war is not what people want."

Badr al-Busaidi, at the end of this interview, addressed the future Prime Minister of the Israeli regime, saying: "Let go of Iran and focus on finding a peaceful and just solution to the Palestinian issue. This is the main issue." This message from the Foreign Minister of Oman reflects his and his country's desire to establish peace and stability in the region and clearly emphasizes the need for a change in the approach of major powers towards Iran.
