Reza Pahlavi, the Iranian prince, in an interview with Euronews in Brussels, referred to the current situation in Iran and the challenges faced by its people, calling for a change in the European Union's approach towards the Islamic Republic. He emphasized that Europe must abandon appeasement and take decisive actions to support the people of Iran.

Call for Support for the People of Iran

In this interview, Reza Pahlavi pointed to the increasing internal pressures and popular opposition against the Islamic Republic's government, stating: "The people of Iran are seeking freedom and democracy and need international support to achieve this goal. The European Union must respond to these demands by increasing sanctions and providing direct support." He added that this support could relate to non-governmental organizations and grassroots movements in Iran that are striving to make the voices of the people heard worldwide.

The Impact of Sanctions on Political Changes

Prince Reza Pahlavi also referred to the impact of sanctions on Iran's economic situation, saying: "Targeted sanctions can help weaken the government's economic power and position the people for change. However, these actions must be carried out intelligently and with consideration of Iran's internal conditions." He stressed the importance of international solidarity in this regard, stating: "Change in Iran will not be possible without global support and solidarity. We need a united front to move towards democracy and human rights." At the end of this interview, Reza Pahlavi emphasized that the time has come for Western countries to take decisive actions instead of appeasement and to assist the people of Iran on their path to freedom.
