Mohammad Akhondi, the head of the Planning and Budget Commission of the Islamic City Council of Tehran, reviewed the audit report of the Tehran Metro Operating Company for the fiscal year 1404 in the 432nd council meeting. He described the actions taken during the funeral ceremony of the martyr leader in the metro as an unprecedented event in the history of the metro.

Efforts to Organize Metro Financial Issues

Akhondi stated that multiple meetings have been held to review common issues in the audit reports, and one of the important topics is taxation. He said: "The tax measures of all organizations and companies are being pursued by one of the departments of the Tehran Municipality's Financial Affairs Office."

He also referred to the unfavorable deviation in the current budget of the company related to the year-end employee reserve. According to him, 5,399 billion tomans have been spent in the capital budget section, with a deviation of three percent in this area.

Forecasting New Services in the Metro

Mehdi Chamran, the head of the Islamic City Council of Tehran, mentioned the construction of the Parand metro and said: "The interval of the metro at the City of Sun station has been extended, and we anticipate that a train will be designated for transporting passengers to the Baqirshahr station." This measure is aimed at reducing the two-hour wait for transit to the exhibition.

Chamran also referred to the services provided to Hashtgerd and added: "Issues related to the Hashtgerd metro must be resolved, and we will provide the necessary services."

Masoud Lotfi, the CEO of the Tehran Metro Operating Company, stated that last year nearly 98 percent of the projected budget in the capital area was utilized, and he noted a 10 percent reduction in budget deviation, adding: "We spent 16 percent less than what was anticipated. In the year 1404 compared to 1403, we faced a 77 percent increase in revenue."

Financial Challenges and Cooperation with Other Entities

Lotfi pointed to common problems with the electricity distribution company and said: "We should pay the least amounts in electricity tariffs, but the electricity company made adjustments in previous years, and we pursued the matter in judicial authorities."

The CEO of the metro operating company emphasized that the costs of the metro in new cities must be accurately assessed and said: "From the day we started until the end of September, 700 billion tomans of expenses have been recorded that must be paid to us."

He also referred to the limitations at the City of Sun metro station and stated: "Signals at the City of Sun station have not yet been received by us, and since yesterday, 44 dedicated trips have been made to this station."

Attention to Employee Rights and the Future of the Metro

Lotfi, referring to issues related to employee rights, said: "In 1400, we entered the new year with 200 new cases, and these matters pertain to employee rights." He also noted that the previous advertising contract has expired, and a new contract with the Beautification Organization is being pursued.

The audit report of the Tehran Metro Operating Company for the fiscal year 1404 was approved with maximum votes in favor, and this action reflects the determination of officials to resolve issues in the metro sector and provide services to citizens.
