Towhid Square, the intersection of five main and busy thoroughfares in Tehran, will witness the inauguration of a new bridge next week, built to streamline traffic and facilitate access to Shahid Chamran Highway. This bridge provides direct access to Sattarkhan Street, which has been recognized as one of the traffic problems for years due to its high traffic volume.

Details of the New Bridge Construction

Mahdi Sadaqati, the CEO of the Engineering and Urban Development Organization of Tehran Municipality, stated in an interview that the new bridge is equipped with two lanes for vehicles and one pedestrian walkway, and it is expected that the opening of this bridge will reduce the incoming traffic to Towhid Square. Sadaqati noted that the groundwork for this bridge is being carried out simultaneously with the sidewalk and curb construction, and all these stages will be completed by the end of this week.

Progress of Operations and Future Plans

The CEO of the Engineering and Urban Development Organization also mentioned the 85% progress of the project's execution and expressed hope that this bridge will be opened to citizens by the end of September. He added that the installation of the curb and the commencement of the bridge's handrail execution are also part of future plans, and the installation of 20 lighting poles will begin soon.

According to Sadaqati, the asphalt for this access will begin next week, and thus, in the near future, citizens will be able to use this new bridge for quicker and easier access to Shahid Chamran Highway. This project is considered one of the important plans of Tehran Municipality to reduce traffic congestion on the city's main thoroughfares.
