Rain showers and thunderstorms are expected in various regions of the country, especially in the northern and southern provinces, in the coming days. These showers are due to the passage of a rain wave from the mid-atmospheric level, which will significantly impact weather conditions.
Cities affected by the rains
Amir Hossein Naghashineh, an expert at the National Meteorological Organization, announced that today most areas of the country are expected to have clear skies. However, in the afternoon and early evening, rain showers and thunderstorms are anticipated in parts of Gilan province, western Mazandaran, southern Kerman, southern Sistan and Baluchestan, and the heights of Hormozgan.

Naghashineh continued that on Friday, the regions of West Azerbaijan, East Azerbaijan, Ardabil, and the western shores of the Caspian Sea will also face increased clouds, rain showers, and thunderstorms. These showers, especially late on Friday, will continue in the western shores of the Caspian Sea, Gilan, and western Mazandaran as the mid-atmospheric currents shift to the north.
Dust storm and marine conditions
On Friday, strong winds are expected in the west, southwest, and east of the country at certain hours, which will bring about dust storms and reduced air quality in susceptible areas. Naghashineh stated: "On Friday, conditions for the formation of a dust mass in Iraq exist, and the influx of this mass into the western strip of the country, especially northwest and western Iran, will cause dust storms."
Additionally, until Friday, the Caspian Sea, eastern Persian Gulf, Strait of Hormuz, and Oman Sea will be rough and turbulent. Increased wind speeds and wave heights in coastal and offshore areas of Hormozgan province, as well as in the Caspian Sea, come with a yellow weather warning. The risks associated with this warning include the potential drowning of swimmers and divers, tearing of fishing nets, damage to fish farming cages, disruption of maritime traffic, and fishing boat movements. In these conditions, caution in recreational and fishing activities and the movement of light and semi-heavy vessels is recommended.
Weather conditions in Tehran and other parts of the country
In the next 5 days, Tehran's sky will be clear. However, strong winds in the west and south of Tehran province are also predicted, which may be accompanied by dust storms. Temperature fluctuations in Tehran are estimated to be between 22 and 33 degrees Celsius.
Recent reports from the Meteorological Organization also indicate that the average temperature in the country over the past week has increased by 1.6 degrees Celsius compared to the long-term average. The highest temperature increase was recorded in South Khorasan with 3.3 degrees and Sistan and Baluchestan with 3.1 degrees. Qazvin province recorded the least temperature change compared to the long-term average at 0.6 degrees below zero.
