How to Make Potato and Onion Tart
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius and let it warm up for at least 10 minutes. In a suitable pan, pour two tablespoons of olive oil and place it over medium heat. Add the sliced onion to the pan and sauté for about 5 to 7 minutes until soft and golden. Then add the grated garlic and sauté for another minute.
Add the potato slices to the pan. Sprinkle some salt and pepper powder and sauté for about 8 to 10 minutes over low heat until they soften slightly. Place the round fancy bread on a baking tray, and you can brush a little olive oil on it to make it crispy.
In a large bowl, whisk the eggs well with salt and pepper powder. Remove the toasted bread from the oven and first spread a layer of the sautéed onion and garlic over the bread. Then arrange the potato slices neatly on top and gently pour the egg mixture over all the ingredients.
Place the tray in the middle of the oven and bake the tart for about 20 to 25 minutes. To ensure it is cooked, you can insert a toothpick or knife in the center of the tart; if it comes out clean, the tart is done.
In the meantime, prepare the lettuce salad and add the lettuce to the prepared dressing. Remove the tart from the oven for a few minutes and let it cool slightly, then cut it into equal pieces and serve it with the lettuce salad.
For a tastier tart, pay attention to a few tips: caramelize the onions completely, use aromatic spices, and do not overbake the tart to prevent it from drying out.
