Mohammad Baqer Pezeshkian, the President of Iran, discussed the country's positions regarding war and negotiations with the United States in an interview with Fox News. He emphasized that Iran has never been the initiator of war and stated that we are always looking for peaceful solutions.

Iran's Position on War

Pezeshkian pointed out that Iran is not seeking war, saying: "Whenever we are attacked, we are forced to defend ourselves." He clarified that Iran has never been the initiator of war and that if the opposing side wishes to continue fighting, there will be a decisive response.

The President of Iran further referred to the existing distrust between Tehran and Washington, stating: "You see, the problem we face is that a deep distrust has formed between us." He added that this distrust is due to actions taken by the United States in the past, particularly the withdrawal from the nuclear agreement, the JCPOA.

Agreement with the United States and Nuclear Program

Pezeshkian, in response to questions about negotiations with the United States, recalled that they reached an agreement with Donald Trump and have since been willing to advance that agreement. He also referred to Iran's nuclear program, saying: "We will set aside 60% enriched uranium within the framework of international law and the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons."

Pezeshkian emphasized Iran's commitment to its obligations under the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, noting: "Humans should not cause the death of another human. We are meant to be the chosen ones of creation and resolve issues through dialogue."

He also referred to provocations from Israel, stating that this country has imposed war on Iran, but Iran still seeks to end this situation and has asked the United States to make its decision regarding the continuation of this situation.

Iran's Economic and Financial Challenges

Pezeshkian, in part of this interview, referred to the country's economic problems, saying: "Yes, we definitely have economic problems, but for survival, we endure every hardship and stand firm." He also pointed out that Iran's financial resources in China are blocked, stating that this is one of the serious challenges facing the country.

In conclusion, Pezeshkian emphasized the importance of forming joint teams to resolve misunderstandings and discrepancies, saying: "Both sides should be identified, and there should be open and direct communication channels between them to prevent such occurrences."
