The Abdul Rahman Soufi Bridge is under construction in District 20 of Tehran. This project has been initiated to facilitate movement from the east of Shahid Avini Highway towards the south of Tehran-Varamin Highway and to organize access to the slow lanes of Tehran-Varamin Highway. With this action, it is expected that the traffic load on Shahid 18 Dey Street will decrease and the safety of transit in this route will increase.

Traffic Problems and Proposed Solutions
The CEO of the Engineering and Construction Organization of Tehran Municipality pointed out the existing traffic problems at the intersection of Shahid Avini Highway and Tehran-Varamin Road, explaining that due to the lack of direct access, movement from the east of Shahid Avini Highway towards the south of Tehran-Varamin Highway faces difficulties. These interferences have created a high volume of traffic in the vicinity of Moalem Square and the beginning of Tehran-Varamin Highway. Therefore, the construction of an overpass from east to south of Tehran-Varamin Highway and from north to south of Tehran-Varamin Highway at the Taqi Abad intersection has been considered an effective solution to reduce travel time and distance to this area.
Additionally, Sadaqati mentioned the existing obstacles in the project, stating that 28 concrete utility poles, 35 light poles, a pedestrian bridge, 5 traffic signs, and two gas pipes are among the obstacles to this project. These items are considered challenges for the faster advancement of the bridge construction operations.
Given the importance of this project, it is expected that with the completion of the Abdul Rahman Soufi Bridge, traffic conditions in South Tehran will improve and access for citizens will be facilitated. This project not only helps reduce travel time but also increases safety on transit routes.
