Today, Sunday, October 26, 2023, the Peugeot 207 Automatic faced the highest price increase among domestic cars, attracting the attention of buyers and market analysts. This price increase has significantly begun following sanctions on automakers and currency fluctuations, especially since October 1, and is currently directly impacting the lives and fates of buyers.
Overview of the Car Market
Research shows that the price of the Peugeot 207 Automatic has increased by 680 million tomans in the past two weeks, reaching 3 billion and 830 million tomans. Additionally, the Tara Automatic Turbo has also risen by 220 million tomans to 4 billion and 150 million tomans. As prices continue to rise, some buyers who previously could afford to buy a new car are now looking for used options, while others are moving towards older and cheaper vehicles.

Factors Influencing Car Prices
Analysts believe that the price increases are not solely related to sanctions. Production costs, supply and demand conditions, trade policies, exchange rates, and pricing structures are among the factors that influence prices. An automotive market expert pointed out the significant price increases in recent weeks, highlighting the impact of currency fluctuations on the car market, stating: "As long as currency fluctuations continue, the car market will also be affected by these conditions and may still face price increases."
Changing Consumer Buying Patterns
Alongside the increase in new car prices, consumer buying patterns have also changed. Many buyers who previously sought to purchase new cars are now turning to second-hand and used options. For instance, the price of the Sorena Plus dual-fuel with a large capsule has increased by 95 million tomans compared to yesterday and is being traded in the market for 2 billion and 860 million tomans. Additionally, the price of the Rana Plus has also risen by 110 million tomans compared to yesterday, reaching 2 billion and 370 million tomans.
Upward Trend in the Assembly Market
The market for assembled cars also experienced a widespread price increase today. The price of the Mazda 3, one of the popular models, surged by 850 million tomans to 10 billion and 200 million tomans. Furthermore, the Fidyliity Elite 7-seater has increased by 1 billion and 350 million tomans in the past two weeks and is now being traded for 7 billion and 600 million tomans.
It seems that with the continued upward trend in prices, buyers will face more challenges, and this situation may influence their purchasing decisions. Changes in the car market affect not only prices but also daily life and consumer choices.
