Persepolis, one of the major football clubs in Iran, has recently announced that it will not sign any new foreign players in the second half of the season. This decision was made by Peyman Hadadi, the club's CEO, during a board meeting. Given the economic situation in the country and the high costs of the dollar, the club is considering utilizing domestic players.
Contract Amounts for Foreign Players
Persepolis currently has five foreign players named Oston Oruonov, Igor Sergeyev, Daniel Gra, Marko Bakic, and Tivi Bifuma. The total contract amount for these players reaches four million and 80 thousand dollars. This amount reflects the significant financial pressure that football clubs in Iran are facing.

Reasons for Not Signing Foreign Players
Peyman Hadadi stated: "Considering the budget we have, we decided not to sign foreign players in the second half of the season. Our foreign quota is full, and given the economic conditions in the country, the high costs of signing foreign players are not justifiable." He also pointed out that even in the summer transfer window, it is likely that Persepolis will not sign foreign players.
The CEO of Persepolis emphasized: "Agents should know that the club has decided not to sign foreign players in this regard. With lower expenses, we can attract suitable domestic players who can help the team and align with our financial conditions."
Domestic Options and Technical Staff Selection
Hadadi also referred to the selection of an Iranian technical staff and said: "At the beginning of the season, due to the high dollar prices, we preferred not to use a foreign coach and were satisfied with the selection of Mehdi Tartar as the Iranian head coach. This choice has yielded positive results so far, and our team has delivered good performances." These decisions are made in a context where football teams are facing numerous challenges due to the economic crisis both internationally and domestically.
Overall, Persepolis, considering the economic conditions and financial pressures on clubs, has decided to change its approach to player recruitment. This approach may herald a transformation in Iranian football, especially in terms of utilizing domestic talents and reducing dependence on foreign players.
