Persepolis, continuing its project to repair and strengthen the team, especially in the midfield, is focused on signing a creative playmaker. Mehdi Tartar, the head coach of the Reds, has made this one of the club's main transfer priorities and is monitoring several options for this position.
Attention to Bashar Resan
Among the names mentioned for joining Persepolis, Bashar Resan, the former star of the Reds, stands out more than the other options. The Iraqi midfielder of Pakhtakor could become a serious option for Persepolis if Tartar gives final approval. However, no official negotiations have taken place between Persepolis and Resan yet, and discussions are currently being pursued through some intermediaries.

Resan's contract status is also a significant reason for the seriousness of this transfer. His contract with Pakhtakor ends at the end of the first half of the season, and if he does not utilize the extension clause, he can join a new team as a free agent. However, Persepolis has a specific financial ceiling for this transfer, and according to investigations, the Reds are not willing to spend more than $700,000 to $800,000 to acquire this midfielder.
Farhan Jafari and Mohammad Ghorbani on Persepolis's Radar
Farhan Jafari, the young midfielder of Malavan, is another option that remains on Persepolis's radar. Jafari was also one of the Reds' targets last summer, but negotiations with Malavan did not yield results. Nevertheless, his performance in the Iran U23 team and the Asian Games has drawn attention back to this young player, increasing the likelihood of his name returning to Persepolis's list of options for the mid-season.
Alongside these two players, Mohammad Ghorbani, an Iranian midfielder playing in the UAE, remains one of Mehdi Tartar's preferred options. Ghorbani was also at the top of Persepolis's shopping list last summer, and the club held multiple negotiations to acquire him, but the UAE club ultimately did not agree to let this player go.
Changes in Persepolis's Priorities
Changes have also occurred in Persepolis's priorities for other positions. Mehdi Tikdari's performance in an unconventional left-back role and the presence of Abolfazl Jalali have led to the temporary removal of Abolfazl Razagpour, the left-back of Foolad, from the Reds' main agenda.
With these considerations, Persepolis is primarily looking to sign a "brain" for the midfield in the winter window; a player who can control the game's rhythm and deliver key passes to the forwards. It is expected that the competition among Resan, Ghorbani, Jafari, and other potential options will determine the fate of Persepolis's midfield in the second half of the season.
