Pedram Ghodjani, head of the Emergency Operations Coordination Center of the Tehran Disaster Prevention and Management Organization, announced that from this afternoon, Tehran will enter a red rainfall status. This warning comes in response to the intensification of recent rains and the rising water levels in the river valleys.

Monitoring the Status of River Valleys

Ghodjani further stated: "Since last night, monitoring sensors for measuring water levels in the river valleys have been activated, and the fullness of these routes is being monitored online." He pointed out the specific capacity of each river valley, adding that if the fullness exceeds the predetermined limit, necessary actions will be taken to manage the situation.

Rainfall Statistics and the Status of Watercourses

The head of the Emergency Operations Coordination Center announced the latest recorded rainfall statistics in Tehran. According to available sensor data, 28 millimeters of rainfall has been recorded in the urban area over the past 12 hours, and it has reached about 25 millimeters in the Solqan area.

He also reported on the normal status of the river valleys and watercourses in the city, stating: "The level of fullness in the routes is within acceptable limits and is under continuous monitoring." However, considering the forecast of intensified rainfall, Ghodjani emphasized that monitoring of the river valleys and watercourses will continue, and necessary actions to prevent potential incidents are underway.

The fullness levels of the river valleys are reported as follows: Darband 7%, Darakeh 5%, Vardavard 1.5%, Bakri 2%, and Tajrish 3%. Additionally, in the downstream watercourses, the water accumulation in the Manouchehri area is about 15%, and in Region 15, it is reported to be around 6%. In western Tehran, the fullness levels of the river valleys along the Chitgar route and Eram Park are approximately 15% and 25%, respectively.
