The national meteorological organization has issued an orange alert for northern coasts, predicting rain showers, thunderstorms, and temporary strong winds today in some areas of Gilan, Mazandaran, Golestan, the heights of Semnan, and northeastern Tehran. According to Fariba Goodarzi, a meteorology expert, these weather conditions will continue until Sunday.

Risks of Rainfall and Strong Winds

A yellow weather alert has been issued due to rain showers and strong winds in the heights of Gilan and Mazandaran provinces. This alert is due to the high likelihood of river water rising, flooding of streets, runoff, lightning, falling of old trees, and damage to agricultural products, and it also brings road slipperiness. Goodarzi also reported a temperature drop of 2 to 3 degrees in the coastal provinces of the Caspian Sea and northeastern country.

Weather Conditions in Other Regions of the Country

In the next 3 days, strong winds are predicted in the east, southeast, northwest, west, and southwest of the country, as well as in areas of central Alborz. The intensity of the winds in susceptible areas may cause dust storms and reduced air quality. A yellow weather alert has also been issued due to relatively strong winds in the north and eastern strip of Sistan and Baluchestan, eastern South Khorasan, southern and eastern Semnan, Qom, and western Khuzestan. In these conditions, caution is advised when passing through mountainous areas and wearing masks in desert and arid regions, especially for sensitive groups.

The Caspian Sea, Oman Sea, Persian Gulf, and Strait of Hormuz will also be rough and turbulent due to increased wind speed and wave height. These conditions may lead to drowning of swimmers and divers, damage to fish farming cages, and disruption of maritime traffic. Therefore, preventing swimming and limiting the movement of light and recreational boats is essential.

The sky in Tehran is clear, and temporary strong winds are expected in some areas of the province. Temperature fluctuations in Tehran will be between 24 and 36 degrees, while the coolest area in the country is the Namdan plain in Fars province with a temperature of 5 degrees, and the hottest area is Omidiyeh with a temperature of 49 degrees.
