Mohammad Raeisazadeh, head of the Medical Council, at the thirty-fifth annual ophthalmology congress recently held, highlighted the importance of educational standards in medical schools and stressed that if these institutions cannot adhere to minimum standards, they should be courageously closed.

The Need for Evaluating Medical Schools

The head of the Medical Council pointed to some medical schools, including Gerash, Lar, Sarab, Maragheh, and Behbahan, and called for a thorough evaluation of these educational centers. He emphasized that the quality of medical education directly impacts community health, and if schools cannot meet the necessary standards, they should cease their activities.

Impact on Community Health

At this congress, Mohammad Raeisazadeh noted that to maintain community health, special attention must be paid to the quality of medical education. Future doctors must be trained in educational environments with high standards to respond effectively to patients' needs. He added: "Necessary changes and improvements in the country's medical education system must be seriously addressed so that we can achieve a desirable level of health services."

Raeisazadeh also referred to the challenges facing the medical system and said: "As a regulatory body, we must more rigorously oversee the performance of schools and ensure that our graduates possess the knowledge and skills necessary to provide health and medical services."

Challenges in the Medical System

In this context, he also pointed to financial and infrastructural problems that may affect the quality of education and emphasized the need for cooperation between the Ministry of Health and universities to improve educational and operational conditions. He stated: "If we cannot provide quality education to medical students, this issue will directly impact the level of health and medical services in the country."

Despite the existing challenges, Raeisazadeh expressed hope that with the joint cooperation of all institutions and universities, it would be possible to improve and enhance the quality of medical education in the country. He emphasized that this issue would benefit all members of society and ultimately contribute to the health of the people.
