Mohammad Javad Najafi has been appointed as the "scientific advisor and head of Iranian students in the Levant region (based in Iraq)." This appointment was made by a decree from Hossein Simayi, Minister of Science, Research and Technology. Najafi, who is also a faculty member at Imam Hussein University, will have responsibilities in this new role aimed at strengthening Iran's scientific and technological communications in the countries of his mission.

Details of the Appointment Decree

In the text of the appointment decree issued to Mohammad Javad Najafi, it is mentioned that due to his commitment and valuable experiences in higher education, he is appointed for a period of two years as a scientific advisor. This decree is issued based on Article 7, Section J, Clause 2 of the Law on the Objectives, Duties, and Organization of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, approved on 01/06/1383 by the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran.

In this decree, the Minister of Science, Research and Technology has also expressed his expectations from Najafi and requested him to pay special attention to fulfilling the duties specified in the dispatch law, approved in 1364 by the Islamic Consultative Assembly, and to fully comply with the relevant regulations for this position. Additionally, he must carry out matters related to scientific and technological communications in the countries of his mission as a scientific advisor.

Emphasis on Identifying Talents and Scientific Collaborations

Furthermore, it has been emphasized that Najafi should focus on accurately identifying the talents and scientific capabilities present in the countries of his mission. Creating opportunities to utilize these talents and establishing scientific communications and collaborations with universities and research centers in the country, especially in attracting students and technologists, are among the other duties of this scientific advisor.

Najafi must also coordinate these activities with the Student Affairs Organization, the Center for Scientific and International Collaborations of the Ministry, and the representatives of the Islamic Republic in the countries of his mission, within the framework of government policies. This appointment can significantly contribute to the development of scientific and cultural relations between Iran and the countries of the Levant and, in turn, play an effective role in attracting students and technological collaborations.
