Farzaneh Sadegh, the Minister of Roads and Urban Development, reacted to the text messages sent by the General Directorates of Roads and Urban Development to the applicants of the National Housing Movement. These messages contained requests for heavy deposits such as 500 million and one billion tomans, which, according to Sadegh, seem unreasonable given the current economic conditions.

Need for careful review of messages

The Minister of Roads and Urban Development stated: "The authenticity and content of these messages must be verified and examined. It is unreasonable to expect applicants to provide and pay these amounts all at once." Sadegh emphasized that even in projects that have reached 80 or 90 percent physical progress, payments should be made in accordance with the timing of the project openings and in various installments. This matter should be particularly considered given the economic conditions of the applicants.

Evaluation of lands annexed to city limits

Furthermore, Farzaneh Sadegh referred to the issue of annexing lands to city limits. She explained that some lands had gone through the necessary legal stages for annexation, but in some cases, this process had been carried out without sufficient expert reviews. Therefore, within a specific timeframe, the possibility of construction on these lands and the conformity of the reported statistics in the Tam system with their actual capacity were evaluated.

Sadegh added: "Although initially the statistics of annexed lands were significant, technical reviews showed that in some of these lands, for various reasons, construction is not possible." These statements reflect the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development's efforts to improve the housing and land situation in the country.

New information for applicants

The Minister of Roads and Urban Development also announced that after conducting surveys, the amount of usable lands has been registered in the Tam system. Information regarding these lands will soon be announced in the next registration processes for applicants who are in line after 830 thousand previous applicants in a waiting list of 700 thousand. This action could help increase transparency in the housing provision process, and we hope that applicants will face better conditions.
