The Ministry of Education utilizes the voluntary activities of "invited consultants" to guide entrance exam candidates towards making the right choices for higher education. Somayeh Sadat Ebrahimi, the Director General of Educational Affairs, Counseling, and Protection Against Social Harms of this ministry, announced the launch of 1,100 specialized counseling centers across the country. More than 4,600 specialized consultants provide counseling services to candidates at these centers.
Empathy with Families for Choosing a Major
Ebrahimi emphasized the importance of this initiative as a symbol of the connection between education and the community, stating: "Our colleagues in the invited consultants campaign stand alongside families with empathetic words to ensure an informed and realistic choice is made." This presence at public gatherings showcases a more beautiful image of the social mission of the education system.

Specialized Counseling Services for Candidates
The Director General of Educational Affairs noted that in each region, at least two separate centers for girls and boys are active, adding: "Experienced consultants provide face-to-face guidance on the precise criteria for choosing a major, prioritizing course codes, and preventing common decision-making errors while assessing the interests and talents of candidates."
Ebrahimi explained that each consultant can cover an average of 25 to 30 students, and two 90-minute counseling sessions are planned for each candidate. If necessary, additional sessions and services can also be provided.
Regarding the cost of these services, she stated: "The major selection centers affiliated with the Ministry of Education operate with approved government tariffs. These centers are also located in secondary schools."
Ebrahimi also mentioned that families can learn about the addresses of active major selection centers by visiting education departments and through the portals of the regions. The planning of locations and scheduling of service desks in all areas is the responsibility of the counseling experts of the education departments.
She concluded by inviting families to take advantage of this valuable opportunity, emphasizing: "This process should be tailored to the conditions, capabilities, and characteristics of each candidate." The deadline for selecting a major is Sunday, October 19, and candidates must complete their major selection process within this timeframe.
