Mercedes-Benz and Porsche have joined the list of cars eligible for import for Iranians residing abroad with new models. This update includes notable models such as the G63, S63, and Porsche 911, indicating an expansion of imported options to high-end and high-performance vehicles.

New Imported Models and Their Importance

The Office of Automotive Industries, Powertrain, and Transportation of the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade has recently published an updated list of brands and models with after-sales service networks based on Article 92 of the Executive Regulations of the Budget Law for the year 1405. This list is considered one of the prerequisites for the import of personal passenger cars by Iranians residing abroad.

In this update, new models from Mercedes-Benz including the S450, S500, S580, S63, and G63 alongside the Porsche 911, Cayenne, Panamera, Taycan, and Macan have been added to the list. The presence of the G63 and S63 as two valuable and high-performance vehicles in the G-Class and S-Class families has attracted special attention. These vehicles fall into the high-end product category of Mercedes-Benz, with the G63 particularly recognized as a luxurious and powerful SUV.

Changes in the Porsche List and Other Brands

Porsche has also gained attention by introducing several new models to this list, especially the Porsche 911, which is presented as a gasoline vehicle. Additionally, the Panamera and Cayenne models are categorized as hybrid vehicles, while the Taycan and Macan are introduced as electric products. These changes reflect a greater diversity in imported options and a tendency towards the entry of electric vehicles into the Iranian market.

Moreover, the large luxury SUV Infiniti QX80 has also been added to the Nissan list, providing a new option for applicants looking for large and expensive vehicles. With these changes, the list of cars eligible for import for Iranians residing abroad is expanding, which could lead to an increase in choices for this group of applicants.

However, it should be noted that the inclusion of a model in this list does not mean that it can be imported unconditionally, and vehicles must still comply with order registration requirements, standards, currency origin, applicant conditions, and customs regulations. In other words, the processes of order registration, declaration, and final clearance of the vehicle must be completed within the specified deadline during the year 1405.

With the addition of models like the G63, S63, and Porsche 911, the selection of available vehicles has become more diverse compared to the past. Although the final outcome of each case depends on the compliance of the vehicle and the applicant with all legal import conditions.
