Massoud Pezeshkian, the President, continued his travel program in New York, following the controversial speech by the President of the United States at the UN General Assembly, and engaged in a conversation with reporters. In this conversation, he elaborated on and evaluated the first day of his trip and reacted to Trump's statements.
A New Perspective on Realities
Pezeshkian stated in this conversation that they had initially prepared a text to read, but after hearing Trump's speech, they decided to change course. He emphasized: "We tried to express the realities that America imposes on our nation and the world; because they act contrary to all international laws and humanitarian frameworks and do nothing but exert force and commit inhumane acts."

Criticism of Trump's Statements
Pezeshkian specifically referred to Trump's statements about the destruction of Iran and added: "Such statements regarding the destruction of a country and a nation are unprecedented. Even former U.S. officials, despite hostilities, did not express this level of nakedness." He also referred to Iran's rich history and civilization, saying: "Iran is a country rooted in history, and despite all the pressures they exert, our people are present on the scene."
The President continued by pointing out the crimes of America and the Zionist regime, stating: "They easily commit genocide, act contrary to all international laws, and easily carry out assassinations." He referred to the assassinations carried out in Iran and other parts of the world and called these actions shameful.
Global Sympathy for Victims
Pezeshkian pointed out a bitter fact, saying: "The bitter part of the story is that people who are not Iranian express anger and disgust at their behavior and show sympathy for the victims and survivors of these crimes, but some Iranians align themselves with these criminals, which is very regrettable and upsetting."
The Rouhani government is trying to engage in dialogue about global issues and defend the rights of the Iranian people by holding side and bilateral meetings with leaders of various countries. In this regard, Pezeshkian mentioned holding various sessions with the Prime Ministers of Iraq and Armenia and the President of Switzerland, stating that good agreements have also been reached.
He concluded this conversation by noting: "Our presence here is aimed at dialogue and defending the rightful position of our oppressed and powerful nation, and I hope we can continue to fulfill this mission well."
