Maryam Ardebili, in line with the implementation of the 'Play City' program, introduced the goals of this initiative. 'Play City' is designed as a mobile amusement park, serving as one of our communication tools with families. This program aims to establish connections among families and enhance their sense of belonging to the city while also helping to develop their social agency.
Attention to Families with Children with Special Needs
Ardebili further added: 'In this journey, it was essential to provide the opportunity for effective presence in urban spaces for families whose members face disabilities or limitations.' Collaboration with the Blind Association and Game Design
Maryam Ardebili emphasized that this program was designed in collaboration with the Blind Association. The games were selected and adapted under the supervision of specialists in this field, ultimately creating a set of games within a specific scenario for these families. In this program, about 300 members from blind and visually impaired families participated as part of 100 families, providing an opportunity for interaction and experiencing family activities.
Ardebili concluded by stressing the importance of maintaining this connection, stating: 'We strive to preserve the relationship formed with these families and create an environment for their experience and development of social agency in urban spaces.' Additionally, she aims to design and implement this model for families with individuals with other disabilities to facilitate social participation for a broader range of families.
