Mahdi Salehi, the mayor of District 2 in Tehran, in his latest statements announced the start of an innovative project aimed at expanding the infrastructure for electric vehicles in northwest Tehran. This project, named "Travel Exchange Center," is designed within the Koye Nasr area and is considered a smart stop station and a comprehensive service center for electric vehicle owners.
The necessity of transitioning to electric vehicles
Given the global trend of transitioning from combustion vehicles to electric vehicles, providing energy infrastructure and creating centralized spaces for servicing these vehicles has become an urgent necessity in modern urban management. Mahdi Salehi pointed out that this center is designed to improve the quality of urban services and reduce costs for the municipality.
Details of the Travel Exchange Center project
This center will be built on a land area of 4,000 square meters in collaboration with the private sector. The mayor of District 2 explained the function of this center, stating: "The Travel Exchange Center" is designed in such a way that while providing fast and safe charging for electric vehicles, it also creates a platform for better traffic management and facilitates the movement of citizens in this area.
With the establishment of this center, it is expected that not only the growing needs of electric vehicle owners will be met, but it will also help reduce traffic and improve the air quality of the city. According to Salehi, this project can serve as a model to be considered in other areas of Tehran as well.
Economic and social impacts
Collaboration with the private sector in this project has helped reduce municipal costs and leads to an improvement in the quality of urban services. This center can also act as a gathering point for enthusiasts of green technologies and the environment. With the increasing number of electric vehicles in the city, the need for appropriate infrastructure and quality services is felt more than ever, and this center can serve as a suitable response to these needs.
With the implementation of this project, it is hoped that the culture of using electric vehicles among citizens will expand, and gradually, Tehran will be recognized as one of the leading cities in sustainable transportation. This center can play an important role in raising public awareness about the benefits of using electric vehicles and help encourage citizens towards sustainable choices.
