Mahdi Sadaqati, as the CEO of the Engineering and Construction Organization of Tehran Municipality, presented a comprehensive report on the status of construction projects in Tehran during his latest press conference. He mentioned the actions taken to improve urban infrastructure and announced the opening of phases one and three of the Dougaz axis and phase two of the Shahr-e Aftab intersection next week. These projects are located at the junction of the Tehran-Qom highway and are part of the municipality's efforts to improve traffic conditions and urban infrastructure.

Ongoing Construction Projects

Sadaqati stated that the trend of opening construction projects will continue in the coming months, and it is expected that about 10 new construction projects will be inaugurated in Tehran by the end of the year. Among the significant projects currently underway are the Shahid Satari and Shahid Fahmideh intersections, the multi-level Baisat Bridge, the western branch of the Imam Khomeini Highway, and the Shahid Boroujerdi Highway. These projects will not only help improve urban infrastructure but will also lead to reduced traffic and increased safety in daily travel.

Asphalt Production and Street Rehabilitation

The CEO of the Engineering and Construction Organization of Tehran Municipality further mentioned the production of 750,000 tons of asphalt since the beginning of this year, which is equivalent to about 75% of the planned program for this year. The target of producing one million tons of asphalt for this year indicates the serious determination of Tehran Municipality to improve the condition of urban roads. Sadaqati emphasized the improvement of asphalt conditions on the streets, noting that the extensive damages that existed in previous years have been significantly addressed, and contractors are dispatched to various parts of the city to carry out asphalt operations.

Strengthening the Hafez Bridge and Other Bridges in the Capital

Mahdi Sadaqati also discussed the safety status of the capital's bridges and stated that the identification of problems and visual inspections of the bridges are conducted by the municipality's regions. If structural strengthening is needed, the Engineering and Construction Organization of Tehran Municipality will undertake the necessary actions. One of the important projects in this regard is the strengthening of the Hafez Bridge, which, according to Sadaqati, is on the agenda of this organization, and the necessary technical actions for it are underway. With the implementation of strengthening operations, the technical problems of the bridge in this regard will be resolved, and the safety of traffic on this bridge will be increased.

Finally, Mahdi Sadaqati noted that during the current urban management period, about 6.5 million tons of asphalt have been used in the streets of Tehran. This significant figure reflects the municipality's determination and will to improve urban infrastructure and roads.
