Mahdi Chamran, the head of the Islamic Council of Tehran, mentioned the timing of the council elections while speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the 436th session of this council. He emphasized the importance of holding elections, stating that the definitive decision is to hold the elections, but various proposals have been made regarding the timing.
Reviewing the Holding of Elections in Multiple Phases
Chamran stated in this meeting: "The proposal put forward is that elections should not be held in all parts of the country on the same day or at a single time." According to him, the issue of holding elections, especially on three different Fridays, is under review, and currently, the Ministry of Interior and the Election Supervision Committee are categorizing and regulating the cities. He emphasized: "Ultimately, the final opinion will be announced by these authorities, and as soon as it is determined, it will be made available to the media and the public."

Criticism of Frequent Speculations
The head of the Tehran City Council also criticized the frequent speculations about the date of the elections, saying: "I personally requested that they not constantly mention different dates and allow the councils to do their work and focus on providing services." He clarified that currently no specific date has been announced, and until the legal authorities announce the exact date, there is no definitive matter in this regard. Chamran's remarks reflect his concern about the impact of speculations on the councils' work and also on the trust that citizens have in this institution.
It seems that given the current conditions and the need for stability and calm in the election process, it is better for the relevant authorities to have greater transparency in this regard and to prevent confusion in public opinion. Chamran emphasized this issue, hoping that in the near future, the date of the elections will be definitively determined and that citizens can participate in this important political event without worry.
