Mahdi Chamran, the Chairman of the Islamic Council of Tehran, during his visit to the one-year performance exhibition of the Cultural and Artistic Organization of Tehran Municipality, emphasized the necessity of paying attention to artistic capacities and ideological foundations. He stated that art can make the values of a society lasting by conveying human and ideological concepts from one generation to another, and the notion that art and religion cannot coexist is incorrect.
Memories from the Sacred Defense Epic
Chamran continued by recalling a memory of meeting with the martyr leader of the revolution, who had referred to the use of art to immortalize the epic of the Sacred Defense. He added: "Literature, theater, cinema, and other artistic forms can transfer the memories and values of an era from one generation to another."

The Connection of Culture and Art in Religious Ceremonies
The Chairman of the Islamic Council of Tehran considered religious ceremonies such as Tazieh and Rowzeh-khani as examples of the connection between culture, art, and beliefs, noting that these ceremonies have played a significant role in keeping alive concepts such as sacrifice, devotion, and martyrdom. He also valued the activities of the Cultural and Artistic Organization and expressed hope that this path would continue with planning and prudence, and that the capacity of art would be utilized for greater impact in society.
During this visit, Mohammad Baqer Alami, the head of the Cultural and Artistic Organization of Tehran Municipality, presented a report on the most important actions and activities of the organization over the past year to the Chairman of the Islamic Council of Tehran. Alami, referring to the organization's situation at the beginning of the new management period, stated that despite the unusual conditions in the country over the past year, efforts were made to keep the cultural and artistic activities of the organization on track and to pursue programs with seriousness.
He also mentioned the managerial and structural changes in the new period and continued: "With the presence of new managers in various departments and changes in the structure of cultural centers, the process of planning, approving, and securing the budget for activities has been reactivated."
Mohammad Khorasani Zadeh, the artistic deputy of the organization, also referred to the organization's new approach in launching and reviving specialized art houses, saying: "The House of Musical Creations, the Visual Arts House, the Caricature House, the Literary Creations House, and the Theater House have been established to create a specialized space for artists' activities and to develop direct communication with the artistic community."
He also thanked the Islamic Council of Tehran for supporting the organization's artistic activities and expressed hope that this support would continue in the budgets of future years with further strengthening of the arts sector.
