Mahdi Bakhtiari Zadeh, CEO of the Tehran Municipality's Fruit and Vegetable Market Management Organization, announced the launch of a bulk supply plan for cleaning and hygiene products in the capital. This plan is implemented to reduce household costs and improve the economic conditions of citizens.
Reducing Costs and Environmental Damage
Bakhtiari Zadeh, pointing to the significant share of cleaning and hygiene products in household consumption costs, stated: "A considerable portion of the final cost of these products is attributed to packaging, which can be reduced through bulk supply." He added that the use of plastic containers also causes serious harm to the environment. Therefore, this plan is designed with the possibility of reusing multi-use containers as a solution to reduce costs and manage plastic consumption.

Citizen Reception and Plan Development
The CEO of the Fruit and Vegetable Market Management Organization noted the experimental launch of this plan at the Haravi fruit and vegetable market, saying: "This plan has received considerable support from citizens, and at times we witnessed queues for purchasing products." Therefore, the expansion of this plan to other markets has also been put on the agenda, and today a booth for bulk supply was opened at the Sardar Jangal fruit and vegetable market.
According to the plans, the Saadiyeh and Parvin markets will soon be added to this plan, and by the end of the year, this service will be provided in a total of 22 fruit and vegetable markets in Tehran.
Bakhtiari Zadeh further emphasized that the products offered at these booths are 40 to 50 percent cheaper than similar packaged products in the market. The reason for this price reduction is the elimination of costs related to containers and packaging, and citizens can bring their empty and reusable containers to these centers.
He also stressed the importance of product quality, stating that these products are of good quality and comparable to reputable brands in the market. Finally, Bakhtiari Zadeh mentioned the positive environmental impacts of this plan, stating: "The reuse of multi-use containers will significantly help reduce plastic waste and pressure on the petrochemical industry."
