Roham Parvaz, the executor of Line 9 of Tehran Metro, announced the start of tunneling operations for this line using a Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) in the Dolatabad area. This project, aimed at completing Tehran's rail network, is being pursued simultaneously from two different fronts.
Details of Tunneling and Project Timeline
Parvaz stated that the Tunnel Boring Machine is currently almost fully assembled and ready to begin tunneling operations in November. Additionally, non-mechanized tunneling using NATM will also continue simultaneously in the Chitgar area. These two fronts will progress independently and in parallel.

The project executor added: "Our goal is to reach a stage within a 36-month horizon where the tunnel and 4 stations on the first front, as well as the tunnel and 4 stations on the second front, are ready for equipment installation and operation." This precise planning heralds a bright future for public transportation development in the city of Tehran.
Facilities and Features of Line 9
Line 9 of Tehran Metro, with an approximate length of 53 kilometers, will become one of the largest metro lines in the capital, including 38 stations. This line not only helps complete Tehran's rail network but also provides broader coverage of various parts of the city.
Parvaz also noted that Line 9 will have at least one connection and interchange station with all current metro lines as well as new lines. This will allow Tehran citizens to easily access their destinations in less time.
This project will also facilitate the formation of a peripheral rail loop around the city of Tehran by connecting to Line 11. Thus, a wide network will be created for easier and faster movement of citizens.
Finally, Parvaz emphasized the importance of this project in improving public transportation conditions, stating: "Our effort is to advance both fronts simultaneously so that they reach operational stages with minimal time apart." This initiative itself demonstrates the determination and will of city officials to improve the quality of life for Tehran citizens.
