Kazem Jalali on Monday evening at the specialized event 'Religion and Power in Iran' at the Institute of Scientific Information on Social Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow, elaborated on Iran's resistance and resilience, stating: "A government based on the guardianship of the jurist means a return to the ethics and nature of human beings. In such a mindset, we resist oppression and do not sell our dignity."
Iran's Moral Power Against Threats
Jalali, in response to a question about the relationship between governance and the type of resistance in Iran, referred to the situation of the people in the nights following the military aggression of the United States and the Zionist regime, adding: "The people of our country support the sanctity of ethics and human nature; this is the backing that ensures that threats from individuals like Trump do not break the Iranian will."

He also stated that for about five decades, all tools have been used to break the will of Iranians but have failed, emphasizing that "power in Iran is based on nature and ethics, which rely on the Creator of existence." Jalali continued: "If we depict the world without purpose, the definition of power becomes the enjoyment of rulers from worldly pleasures. However, in the definition we have of the world, there is no concept of power; rather, there is a concept of responsibility."
The Necessity of Returning to Ethics in Politics
The Iranian ambassador to Russia expressed regret over the disregard for nature and moral values by many rulers in the world, stating: "The removal of ethics from governance leads to atrocities such as the Minab school incident, where aggressors dropped bombs on students in Iran." He also referred to the crimes against the oppressed in Gaza, adding: "The removal of ethics from power and politics causes us to drop bombs on the innocent."
Jalali further examined the course of 'Religion and Power in Iran' at four historical turning points and noted that religion has always been an important issue for the people of Iran. After the Islamic Revolution, the people of Iran returned to their essence, and Imam Khomeini (RA) instilled deep self-awareness in the nation, which moved forward in all arenas.
In conclusion, he referred to the joint collaborations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Russian Federation in scientific and cultural fields and expressed hope that these collaborations could bring a future filled with justice and peace for both countries.
